Group 25 - Letter 26 = Color 3 (Perception)

March 17, 2014
We are three days away from Psychology Fair. The last big thing we must work on by then is our poster that will be presented at the fair. I will post photos of the progression of it. Instead of using hundreds of pieces of paper for our survey we will be using a QR code. With the QR code students may scan it with their smart phone and it will open the survey being conducted. This is a very efficient way for us to save paper and collect our data in one place. Going through every individual survey would be tedious and human error seems inevitable when you have a few hundred papers to go over. I'm glad we found a better we to do this.

It has been some time since I've made any posts but I'm back and will be regularly updating from here on out. We have covered all the basics for conducting an experiment and how that will apply to ours.
While working on the project we had to find similar (or the same) studies that have already been done. When doing that, I did not find any study exactly the same as what we will be doing. I am very excited to see what comes of it.
The point of our experiment is to find out if there is a connection between letters of the English alphabet and specific colors; if there is, I am hoping to be able to find out what influences it. Even more so if there is a connection between vowels or something of the sort. All of the students who are taking part in the fair will be wearing shirts that say "PINK FREUD" in pink text, and I thought maybe even those letters will be answered as pink because the participants will be seeing that all through out the fair. I honestly don't know what will come if it, but I am very excited for the results.

Before jumping into the first post I would like to acknowledge the new member of our group, Thomas, who I am excited to work with.
Today is the first day we got the chance to start working on our student hand out sheets. As of now we will be working on: dividing work between members of our group, finding the appropriate topic for our project, start a bit of research, form a hypothesis, and identify variables for our activity. Our other member, Alex, wasn't in class today; but on Monday we can all get together and get on the same page. I'm excited to finally be started on this.
